40 hour Famine. Do Something Real! 15-17 August 2008

My Famine

How many kids can you help this year?

First, think of everyone you could ask for a donation and how much they might give.

Remember, $40 will help eight kids for one month. So to help eight kids for six months you'll need to raise $240. Refer to this table for help working out your target.

Record you target and watch your progress as the donations flow in!

Group Members only

Turn to page 30 in your Famine Book, where you'll find your personal Famine Meter. Write your target at the top of the Meter. Then divide this figure in half and write that amount at the halfway point. For example, if your target is $240, write $120 halfway up. Work out the amount for one-quarter and three-quarters of the way. Then mark in as many in-between amounts as you want.

Once you've done this, tell your Group Leader so they can set a combined target for your whole group.

You can use your Famine Meter to track your progress. Record every donation by colouring in the meter, and show it to your donors so they can see how they're helping. Use the summary table on page 15 your Famine Book to record all cheque, cash and online donations.
