Lip:-

lip magazine puts life in perspective.

Do you really need another magazine telling you how to feel good about yourself and on the next page featuring yet another glamorous but seriously underfed model in order to sell you the latest celebrity fad diet book and handbags one can only ever dream of affording?

Life is complicated enough without being spoonfed unrealistic and unattainable ideals of the “right body”, the “right bling” and the “right way to give a blowjob”.

lip is for girls who think, feel, create, speak out and live. Girls who aren’t afraid to be themselves.

We explore these themes through the writing, art, fashion, photography and vision of our contributors. lip brings you fun, informative and truthful articles and fiction reflecting your lives, your dreams and your world. We share stories and art by real girls that will make you laugh, make you cry and give you something to think about.

Young women deserve a magazine that recognises the diversity of our interests and reminds us that feminism isn’t a “dirty F word” or an outdated concept. Feminism is about valuing our minds over our bodies. It’s about considering how our culture and media influences our view of ourselves as feminine.

As a feminist magazine, lip will show you the world as a place of multitudinous possibility by publishing articles about girls, about boys, and about issues that influence the way we live our lives. lip will focus on creativity; activism; careers; physical, sexual and mental health; fashion; travel; and many topics that reflect our thoughts, feelings, confusions and celebrations as we mature into fabulous women.

Check out www.lipmag.com for more info about our glossy mag, or www.lipmag.com/shop to buy a subscription or other fun lip merch!

I have posted this to encourage the reading of a more suited magazine, and although the above stated is a feminist magazine, it's really suited for anyone who wishes to read -- and I encourage everyone to check it out.

Thanks,

I have been informed that there will be a feature piece in issue #18 of lip specifically about trek against trafficking! This is exciting news people! If you can, keep an eye out on the site and I'll keep reminders here too, for notices about when you can pre-order your copy!

Hi! Yes, that would be fantastic. I think you'd have to purchase the mag to see the article however, because it will be in the print. It should be out around June - I don't know exact dates. Some stores around Aus will stock this, however we are still working on that so if your in QLD you'll need to order online, but I think it's still pretty exciting!

I am indeed, Belly dancer.

I currently write feature profile artists for the monthly e-newsletter, as well as research, advertising and feature pieces for the magazine itself. It's good fun!

Hey guys! Just a note, I am now a permanent columnist for the print magazine as well as the online work that I do!

It will be a social justice column, so if you can access the magazine I would definitely suggest you do!
